Although Criterion’s beloved Burnout franchise was subtly mentioned in the beginning, a job listing containing lots of Need for Speed and Autolog talk/appraisal has been posted on the EA Jobs site, hinting at a possibility that Criterion may be working on a new Need for Speed title. Most of us are still waiting on that next Burnout sensation, but seeing what the studio managed to do with last year’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, we wouldn’t mind another one of those thrills.
According to the listing, Criterion is looking for a “cinematic artist,” specializing in “full motion video and cut scenes.” More exciting are the responsibilities the job encompasses, requiring said employee to animate “intense car action sequences, terrifying jumps, insane crashes and epic car chases” to bring to life the “the visceral, brutal car action Criterion is critically acclaimed, trusted and renowned for.”
Hey, that’s good enough for us. The way we see it, it’s a win-win situation, whichever franchise may be the subject of this story.
