UK-based Splash Damage may be dipping its toes into the superhero genre; the Brink developer is rumored to be working on a Marvel game for Disney, and a big one at that. It’s said to be based on “one of the biggest American pop culture brands of the last 50 years.” That’s big.
It’s a lot of speculation for now though. IndustryGamers scribbles (via): “The company has managed to sign at least one unannounced project for a major entertainment brand…The online multiplayer technology is already in place, and once a collection of well-known characters are laid over the top of an even more polished Brink engine there’s going to be a lot of excitement from genre fans.”
The media company backing the project is “widely believed to have given up on the console publishing business.” Sound familiar? Pair that with ‘big American brand’ bit and it seems to be at least a possible match. But, like said, just a lot of speculation for now.
