Square Enix, a publisher historically famous for Final Fantasy games and traditional other JRPGs, has secured a license with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3.
This comes as a slight surprise given that we’ve seen this engine power tech-heavy western action games like Gears of War in recent years. But with Enix’s recent success with western-developed titles like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it makes sense. Epic Games Japan reportedly worked closely with the publisher to secure this deal.
So where will we see the tech put in place? A well-known franchise or something new?
