Maybe you thought the $50 entrance fee for a premium subscription to Activision’s new Call of Duty’s social Elite service would be too much for gamers to bear. Or that the recent intermittent service would turn many away. Turns out, despite those barriers, Activision is having no trouble selling subscriptions.
The company this morning announced that it has sold 1 million premium subscriptions to Elite, and that in total 4 million have signed up for the stat-tracking and social service.
The publisher was also quick to point out other pay-services like Netflix, Hulus Plus, Xbox Live, and Sirius XM radio took about a year to reach one million paid subscribers, and Activision did it in just six days.
