If you have a big idea involving Kinect you may be in luck, as Microsoft has announced the Kinect Accelerator contest.
This contest is looking for 10 developers or existing teams to take part in a 3-month “incubation” program that will run from March to May of next year in Seattle. Each of the 10 developers will be given $20,000, an Xbox development kit, the Windows Kinect SDK, office space, and mentors such as entrepreneurs, investors, and Microsoft employees.
At the end of the 3 month period, each team will present their application to investors and entrepreneurs in the hopes that their prototype is chosen to become an actual product. Microsoft isn’t looking for just games here, either. They are looking at a wider appeal of the Kinect hardware and suggest apps for manufacturing, education, healthcare, and more.
If you are an aspiring developer and want to give this a shot, the applications are open now and run until January 25th, 2012.
