The Steam version of Trine 2 will allow for PC/Mac cross-platform play, Frozenbyte’s announced. The beta, which is happening right now for those who pre-ordered, allows for just that in fact.
“The cross-platform multiplayer between Windows and Mac makes it easier to find people to play with, allowing everyone to enjoy the full co-op potential of the beta and the upcoming game,” said Lauri Hyvärinen, CEO of Frozenbyte.
While there’s still no precise launch date, the game is still targeting 2011 for release and is available for pre-order now in two forms. The standard $15 version as well as the newly-announced $25 Collector’s Edition, which comes with a digital artbook with developer commentary, plus the original soundtrack.
A DRM free version is coming as well, but not until sometime in 2012.
