Metal Gear Solid Rising might be less stealthy than predecessors

Metal Gear Solid fans hoping for classic tactical espionage action in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Rising might need to adjust their expectations a bit, says series creator Hideo Kojima.

In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Kojima noted that Rising would take a step away from stealthiness and move towards the Raiden gameplay from MGS4.

“If somebody thinks ‘I love Snake’ and just really wants traditional stealth gameplay and that experience, then it may be hard to get into Rising,” explained Kojima, “but for people who are more open and willing to try new things, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Regarding the focus on Raiden in Rising, Kojima said, “The people who liked him in 4 will like him in this, but it’s a personal preference.”

For a fresh look at the anticipated MGS sequel, fans should check out the Spike Videogame Awards on December 10.
