Time to introduce a bit of Wii U rumors to break up the XboxNext avalanche we’ve had in recent weeks. Game site WiiUDaily — who’s “heard from developers who have access to the console that the Wii U” — the new Nintendo home console has as much roar under its hood than the 360 and PS3 combined; “50% more powerful” than the Xbox 360 and PS3, the dev sources reportedly say.
Here are the deets:
- Quad Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU, very similar to the Xbox 360 chip.
- 768 MB of DRAM “embedded” with the CPU, and shared between CPU and GPU
- Unknown, 40nm ATI-based GPU
It’s also said that Nintendo has been testing two configurations of the machine, one with 768MB and the other with 1GB of RAM.
As always, time will tell.
