PS3 FY sales slightly ahead of expectations — Sony

Sony has something to cheer about as the year draws to a close; the tech giant has managed to sell more PS3s than they predicted.

The company’s goal is to sell 15 million consoles during its fiscal year (ends March 2012), according to SCE boss man Andrew House, a target they’re slightly ahead of, a Reuters report reads.

No predictions for PlayStation Vita though, which is due to launch in Japan tomorrow and the west in February. Chances are we’ll have to wait until 2012 for any indications on how well it’s received.
