UK Charts: Skyrim claims Christmas

It’s time for the champagne in the Bethesda offices; this year’s UK Christmas charts number one goes to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which finds itself topping the list for a second week running.

The popular RPG is followed by Ubisoft’s Just Dance 3 at #2 then Activision’s Modern Warfare 3 at #3. The last non-EA/Activision game to score first place, as VG247 points out, was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City way back in 2002. To think that it’s taken nearly a decade to knock the likes of Call of Duty and FIFA off of the top is staggering.

The rest of the list follows below, and it takes a similar shape to last weeks, albeit with a bit of shuffling around.

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
2. Just Dance 3
3. Modern Warfare 3
4. FIFA 12
5. Saints Row: The Third
6. Battlefield 3
7. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
8. Mario & Sonic at the 2012 London Olympics
9. Need for Speed: The Run
10. Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call
