Microsoft has slapped a date on the next DLC pack for Gears of War 3, the Fenix Rising pack, hitting Xbox Live on January 17 2012.
There’s a generous serving on multiplayer content on offer here, including five new maps (Academy, Anvil, Depths, Escalation and The Slab) as well as four new multiplayer skins (Recruit Clayton, Thrashball Cole, Savage Marauder, Savange Kantus), two of which, you may note, were already included in the game’s limited edition.
The most interesting addition is the ability to Re-Up your multiplayer level once reaching the cap of 100. Much like Call of Duty‘s prestige mode, players will be offered the chance to restart level progression once reaching the cap, though in Gears players keep all other progression. Players can Re-Up three times, earning new emblems and weapon skins as they do.
Excited? Keep yours eyes peeled for the pack next month, then.
