It’s hard to put a word on PS Vita’s Japanese launch so far, so let’s just call it a start for now. But the 325,000 units sold hasn’t set the house on fire, nor the 0.92 attach rate on physical games.
What has been doing well, according to Sony at least, is the digital section. Speaking at a press conference for Gung Ho Entertainment’s Ragnarok Odyssey (via Andriasang) yesterday, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan CEO Hiroshi Kawano said: “Games and peripherals are selling extremely well. Sales of the download versions of titles are exceeding expectations.”
We’d really like some data to go along with that claim Sony. Could Vita be the first video game system to sell more downloads than it does discs?
