A 3DS redesign is inevitable, but could it be here as early as this year? Japanese magazine Nikkei Trendy seems to think so.
“To increase the 3DS’ install base, there’s a possibility for a lighter version that address the handheld’s weak points, the thickness and the battery life,” one article inside states. It even states that the device could be here as early as spring. The company had previously stated that there were currently no plans for a 3DS Lite.
Any such redesign could include a second analog nub for the system, something that’s currently being implemented through the Circle Pad Pro. Could we see the new system in the coming weeks/months?
