Research firm Flurry has stated that over one billion apps were downloaded during the Christmas week (December 25 – 31).
A total of 242 million of those were downloaded on Christmas itself while a further 1.2 billion were scooped up over the rest of the week. This marks the first time apps have broken the 1 billion barrier in the space of a week.
US downloaded the most with 509 million of those apps belonging to them. China followed on 99 million and then the UK with 81 million.
Proof is in the pudding really; this is the age of the app.
