To compliment the transition to a new free-to-play model, Cryptic Studios’ Star Trek Online will soon start receiving weekly updates.
As executive producer Stephen D’Angelo revealed in a recent developer diary (via) the game will start receiving fixes and tweaks on a weekly basis starting in February.
Now let’s get a bit more nerdy; new Federation and Klingon flagships will be introduced next month too, along with the Dominion episode series. March will bring with it the first Duty Officer system expansion and a host of new game features. In fact, from the stretch of the game’s two-year anniversary in February to April D’Angelo would like to see new additions to the game every week.
Let’s hope the free-to-play model boldly takes this MMO where no MMO has gone before. Sorry.
