PlayStation 4, contrary to recent rumors, will not be making an appearance at E3 this summer. Sony itself has confirmed this, on two fronts.
When quizzed on the subject, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Andrew House told CVG: “I don’t think we’re contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point.”
This was backed up by Sony Corp.’s Kaz Hirai who told the Wall Street Journal that “Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3.”
“I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”
The finalized Wii U will most certainly be there, so that’s at least one piece of next-gen(ish) hardware to look forward to. Several rumors have suggested that Microsoft will be there with its next Xbox as well but those continue to be just that, rumors and speculation at best.
