Sony has confirmed that Bigbig Studios, developer of Little Deviants for PlayStation Vita, has been closed and that the company’s Cambridge division is facing restructure. While the former may have suffered the ultimate fate, the latter is blinded by the light at the end of the tunnel, as it will join — at least part of it — Guerrilla Games to develop Killzone for PS Vita.
No details have been revealed regarding the number of jobs lost during this move. In addition, Sony unequivocally pointed out that none of the aforementioned will shake the grounds of other UK studios such as Media Molecule, Evolution, Sony Liverpool and London. In that regard, there could be possibilities for those affected to land a job at any of these studios, hopefully.
“We have reviewed and assessed all current projects and plans for the short and medium term and have decided to make some changes to European studios,” said Sony. “As a result of this, there will be a realignment of resource within the studio to ensure that the studio is in the best position to achieve this.”
