The giant may be showing signs of slowing down; Modern Warfare 3 in 2011 sold less copies in the UK than Black Ops did in a comparable time frame back in 2010. Data from GFK Chart-Track allows for the comparison.
According to the data cruncher, Modern Warfare 3 sold 2,814,609 copies between its release and the end of the year, while Black Ops did 3,266,298 units. That’s a difference of 451,489, which needless to say is quite notable.
It remains to be seen how this year’s Call of Duty, rumored to be Black Ops 2, fairs as it’s released later this year against the expected Medal of Honor 2.
