Nintendo has been sounding off on some Wii sales figures, revealing that the console has sold over 30 million units in Europe alone.
The data is taken from the week ending December 25, making for a very merry Christmas for Nintendo indeed. Furthermore, sales of the balance board peripheral are at 41.98 million, with 22.67 million of those sales attributed to the original version packing Wii Fit and the other 19.31 million as the one with Wii Fit Plus.
The Wii is now Europe’s best selling current generation console, beating PS3 at 22 million (as reported last August). It still has some way to climb before it reaches the PS2’s 50 million plus units though.
