We’ve all heard about how Witcher 2 developer CD Projekt Red threatened to hunt down those who pirated the team’s game through IP addresses.
Recently the developer stopped doing that, but that hasn’t stopped some major publishers signing up for the same method. Which publishers? Well the likes of Square Enix, Ubisoft, Codemasters and even Atari are in on the deal.
These companies intend to find pirates using this controversial method, but pirates can easily avoid being found through their IP address, meaning this isn’t a perfect solution.
Other companies on the list include Koch Media, Daedalic Entertainment, BitComposer, Kalypso Media, Aerosoft and dtp Entertainment.
