The highly-anticipated Guild Wars 2 is gearing up for its open beta in March, developer AreaNet has revealed.
Company founder and president Mark O’Brien took to the game’s official blog to announce the deets.
“In February we’ll invite select press to participate in beta testing,” O’Brien explained, “and in March and April we’ll aggressively ramp up the size of our beta test events so that many of you will have a chance to participate.”
He went on to mention that the full game will release “later this year”, adding that details of how to get into the beta will be revealed soon.
This news has been a long time coming for GW fans; the sequel was announced all the way back in 2007.
