Though it’s a US retailing giant, GameStop only exists in two places in the UK; online and, oddly enough, through stores in Nothern Ireland.
That was until this week, as the company has closed down all of its outlets in the area, The Gaming Liberty reports. Staff were reportedly informed of the closure last Sunday and then customers yesterday found stores closed down with posters advertising the company’s website.
The company is expected to issue a full statement soon, though customers with pre-orders have reportedly been told that any such order will be honored online.
Could this sweep of closures be the sign of things to come for other retailers like GAME?
