Remedy has released a massive amount of information on the PC release of Alan Wake, and it’s a pretty good read.
First and foremost, Alan Wake will be coming to Steam in February 2012. Unfortunately for some, there is no Mac version coming. But on the plus side, the game will come complete with The Signal and The Writer DLC at no extra cost. This extra content does come at some cost, though; the Steam download for Alan Wake is a pretty hefty one, weighing in at 7.5 GB.
Now for some tech talk; your system must be running Windows XP, Vista, or 7, you will need a dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card. Remedy also says that for a “solid performance”, they recommend a quad-core CPU and a “graphics card with around 2000 in 3DMark Graphics Score.” And, obviously enough, for top performance, you need top of the line equipment.
So all you Alan Wake fanatics best be getting your systems ready; you only have a month. And make sure you bring enough batteries for that freakishly powerful flashlight.
