Microsoft sees XBLA growth, most popular titles detailed

The PC version of Ubisoft’s 2011 god game From Dust may have had its share of bad press, but the 360 version certainly knocked it out of the park. Released as part of Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade promotion, the Xbox 360 version of the Eric Chahi creation was the year’s highest-grossing Xbox Live Arcade title, according to data sent out by analyst firm Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment. The game sold 308,000 copies and pulled in an estimated $4.6 million USD in revenue.

It wasn’t the most popular title though, as Full House Poker, Castle Crashers and Fruit Ninja Kinect all sold more units. Catch the year’s top 10 below:

4. From Dust (Ubisoft) – 308,000 Units / $4.6 Million USD ($15.00 ASP)
5. Trials HD (RedLynx, LTD) – 286,000 Units / $4.0 Million USD ($13.80 ASP)
6. Magic: The Gathering (Stainless Games) – 278,000 Units / $2.7 Million USD ($9.71 ASP)
7. Torchlight (Runic Games) – 272,000 Units / $4.0 Million USD ($14.64 ASP)
8. Toy Soldiers: Cold War (Signal Studios) – 241,000 Units / $3.6 Million USD ($15.00 ASP)
9. Bastion (Supergiant Games) – 241,000 Units / $3.6 Million USD ($15.00 ASP)
10. Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale (Bedlam Games) – 210,000 Units / $2.8 Million USD ($13.38 ASP)

All in all, Microsoft saw an 18 percent year-over-year increase in XBLA sales and had total revenues of $144 million USD.
