As sad as I am to report this, I must; BlizzCon will not be happening this year. Revealed through a post by a community manager on the World of Warcraft forums, the reasoning behind this decision is that Blizzard’s “jam-packed schedule” just won’t allow it. I was hoping that the reason would be a literal blizzard solely for the puns, but it was not meant to be.
They can’t really be faulted for this; they do have a fair bit of proverbial irons in the fire: Diablo III, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, and the Titan MMO project. So at least you can’t say they’re just being lazy, not that I doubt that some fans will inevitably do just that. I guess we’re all going to have to wait until next year for the big Blizzard mania.
