Though Bungie’s last Halo game was released over a year ago and we’ve since seen a remake at the hands of new developer 343 Industries, the original developer still isn’t completely detached from the franchise.
It will be soon though, as its transferring of all things Halo over to the new team will be complete next March.
As the company’s blog states, March 31 will see Bungie wash its hands of the franchise, meaning they’ll no longer be able to support their original titles with patches and the like.
It’s a sad moment, then, but the blog captures it perfectly: “Thanks for making the Halo-era version of Bungie.net more successful than we could have possibly imagined. You complete us.”
