UK Charts: FIFA dethroned, Final Fantasy on top

Finally! Some action at last.

That is to say that FIFA 12‘s six week run at the top of the UK charts has finally been toppled by none other than Final Fantasy XIII-2. In fact the sporting giant didn’t even make it into the top three this week; Konami’s Metal Gear Solid HD Collection surprisingly claimed the second spot (go Snake!), followed by Battlefield 3. It was in fourth that FIFA found itself, then.

The week’s other big release, SoulCalibur V (no, not NeverDead), took the fifth spot. Past that it was business as usual; Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Just Dance 3 and Saints Row: The Third all followed in that order. No Zumba Fitness to be seen, oddly enough. And we jest, but NeverDead is also completely absent. Like, not even in the top 40. Oh dear.

This Friday sees the arrival of Catherine at UK retailers along with the anticipated Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Will either share the success of Final Fantasy XIII-2?

As always, the full top 10 takes list formation below.

1. Final Fantasy XIII-2
2. Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
3. Battlefield 3
4. FIFA 12
5. SoulCalibur V
6. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
