Social games to see “huge visual evoltuion” – Insomniac

As the developers behind the visually stunning Resistance 3 and Ratchet and Clank series, Insomniac Games knows a thing or two about great graphics. And now with Insomniac Click working away on new social experiences, the team are well set to bring about a greater level of visual fidelity in more casual games.

In fact, the whole genre could be seeing such an evolution in the coming years, CEO Ted Price expects. In an in-depth interview with VG247 about the direction of the once Sony-only developer, Price spoke a bit about this anticipated increase in quality.

“Yeah, I think that certainly over the next couple years, we’re gonna see a huge evolution in the visuals in social games,” he said. “It’s thanks to improving technology. It’s thanks to browsers that are getting better. It’s thanks to development teams that are coming from the core, traditional gaming scene and moving into the social space.”

What Insomniac Click is working on right now we don’t know. We do know, however, that the team is currently developing Overstrike for PS3 and 360.
