If you thought Rovio was just sitting back and counting their money instead of working on the next thing in the Angry Birds franchise, then we have some news for you.
The newest version of the instantly classic series, Angry Birds Space is launching on mobile devices on March 22. Rovio North America general manager Andrew Stalbow expects fans to be hysterically excited.
Said Stalbow to Yahoo! Games, “We think fans are really going to love it because we’ve already gotten amazing feedback on the physics of our games. They’re so accurate and easy to grasp that some teachers use Angry Birds in their lessons about projectile motion.” I know if my teachers used Mario and Master Chief in examples, I would have paid much more attention in science class.
Angry Birds Space will offer new challenges to veterans of the franchise because launching birds on different planets will mean players will have to deal with zero gravity as well as slow motion and light speed. Although we don’t have any gameplay footage yet, it certainly seems like Space will offer much more than just a cosmetic change for Angry Birds. Here’s a teaser for now:
Of course, there will also be new birds for players to acquaint themselves with, as well as some familiar angry faces.
