Just two weeks removed from its free release on iOS devices, Battlefield 3: Aftershock has been pulled from the App Store.
IGN reports that EA has removed the title due to an influx of negative user feedback, which included complaints about, among other things, the game’s controls and network connectivity issues. The title had an average user rating of 2.5 stars upon it being pulled.
In a statement regarding the removal, EA says they are “currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback [they’ve] received.” To that end, an updated and more expanded version of the game is now set for release later in the year.
The game had previously supported itself thanks to a sponsorship from the upcoming military action film Act of Valor. With that movie’s release just a couple of days away, it would appear EA felt the coast was clear for some fine tuning on this underwhelming title.
