Despite working on the same franchise, Call of Duty developers Treyarch and Infinity Ward have seemed strangely at odds with each other over years past. Most famously one Infinity Ward member didn’t take too kindly to the other team years back when comparisons were made between the then-upcoming World at War and the then-recent Modern Warfare.
But incidents like this are a thing of the past, or at least that’s what IW’s Robert Bowling thinks. He told OXM: ”I think there will always be a lot of communication back and forth. At the end of the day we are two different developers and we have different opinions about the games we make and the games they make.”
According to Bowling, it’s Call of Duty Elite that will help unite the developers.”When we do something really great it would be good for theirs, and when they do something really great it would be good for ours, so I think you are going to see a lot more of that. We’re taking in feedback as a franchise as a whole, not just our individual iterations any more.”
Will Modern Warfare 3 have had any influence on this year’s (presumably) Treyarch-developed title?
