UK gamers prefer Wi-Fi version of Vita

The Wi-Fi only version of the PlayStation Visa accounted for 79% of all Vita sales in the UK last week. In contrast to the first week of Vita sales in Japan, where the 3G version was more popular, UKIE data shows that UK gamers have preferred to purchase the Wi-Fi version, possibly to save money for accessories.

With Vita memory cards priced quite high, buying the cheaper Wi-Fi version would allow gamers to more easily afford a memory card, while the higher pricing of big-budget titles such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss could have also contributed to gamers making a cheaper investment.

As expected, UK gamers have also flocked to buy Uncharted and FIFA Football, games widely expected to do better in western countries than in Japan.
