Sad news for fans of creepy indie hit The Binding of Isaac; the possible 3DS version of the game has been turned down by Nintendo.
Co-creator Edmund McMillen posted on Twitter last month that a port would happen should Nintendo approve. However: “After a long internal debate Nintendo has decided NOT to allow the Binding of Isaac on the 3ds. :(”
He then added: “As many assumed the reasons were due to the games ‘questionable religious content’. Thank GOD Steam exists!
“Just one of many reasons why Steam is the top dog of digital distribution.”
There’s a lot to be said here about Nintendo’s ‘censoring’ of products that don’t fit in with it’s child-friendly image. This is a real shame, but perhaps instead we’ll see the port on other systems?
