Next-gen Xbox dev summit happening in London — rumor

And thus begins today’s edition of “Twitter gaming rumors.”

Today’s contestant is Sean Tracy, a developer over at Crytek, who’s innocuously tweeted that he was enjoying a “Durango” developers summit in London. “Durango,” as you should know by know, appears to be the new codename for the Microsoft’s next generation console, which, by all accounts, is currently in development.

“Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London,” Tracy said. “So far, great swag and interesting talks.” The tweet, as well as Tracy’s whole account, have since been taken down. Thank you for playing, Mr. Tracy.

If nothing else, this would at least confirm the validity of the Microsoft’s purported codename. It’s been rumored for a while now that Crytek is reportedly working on a next-gen title, possibly Timesplitters 4. As always with reports like these, though, nothing should be set in stone just yet, so put your Xbox 3 salivating on hold for just a while longer.
