Those hoping to try out Halo 4‘s multiplayer offerings early may find themselves a little disappointed with this news.
343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor has told Official Xbox Magazine (via) that a beta for the game would be a “huge interruption” to the development process, suggesting that it would take time away from polishing and shipping the game. Rest assured though; O’Connor reasoned that the team was “definitely testing the game at scale.”
Halo: Reach, the last full blown Halo release, got extensive beta testing, as last year’s Combat Evolved Anniversary. The importance of betas for online experiences can’t be understated in this day and age. Is 343 potentially making a big mistake in not releasing one?
