Halo 4 is going to run at native 720p when it launches. So says the game’s developer, 343 Industries.
That’s important because past Halo entries on Xbox 360 have been criticized for running in sub-HD resolutions, but that won’t be the case with this newest title, director Frank O’Connor confirms. In an interview session on NeoGAF O’Connor replied to one claim of the game looking sub HD: “it is native 720p.”
Can’t get any clearer than that.
On concerns about the game’s recently announced perk system, he said: “There aren’t ‘perks’ in the game as being described here. And classic Halo is still there. But there are things we will be rolling out soon to put all of this discussion in a much better perspective and I suspect calm frayed nerves.”
It’s still too early to make claims about how the franchise will go. Hopefully a wider reveal is right around the corner.
