Rumors have been swirling that US retailing giant GameStop is looking to pick up similar-yet-struggling UK chain, Game Group. According to UK newspaper The Independent, that’s a half truth.
The paper reports that GameStop would like to buy up GAME stores in Spain and Portugal, which would equate to some 288 stores. Apparently GAME has been advertising sale of its 663 overseas outlets since January.
GAME won’t be stocking some of March’s biggest games, including all this week’s big hitters like Mass Effect 3. In other words; something’s gotta give. Could the US chain really move to take over Spain and Portugal?
