The next Rainbow 6 title, the ambitious Rainbow 6: Patriots, has lost and gained a creative director.
Following some rumors last night, Ubisoft has confirmed that David Sears has been replaced with Jean-Sebastien Decant who, according to his Linkedin profile, was the creative director on Driver: San Francisco and the narrative director on the yet-to-be-released Far Cry 3.
Narrative director Richard Rouse III, lead designer Philippe Therien and animation director Brent George were also rumored to have been pulled off the project, though Ubisoft only confirmed Sears’ departure.
The publisher also offered up a blanket statement: “The development team is still hard at work to deliver the next installment of the revered Tom Clancy series and more details on the game will be revealed at a later date.”
Patriots is expected to launch sometime next year. Whether it takes a different form than what’s been shown so far remains to be seen.
