GAME staff warned of imminent administration

The end is seemingly closer than ever for Game Group, as MCV reports that CEO Ian Shepherd has warned staff to brace for imminent administration.

In a meeting held last night Shepherd apparently stated that the company has two weeks to turn its fortunes around. Game Group could of course still be bought out by US retailer GameStop, but if not then things are looking pretty bleak for the company.

The retailer’s outlets spread across the UK are currently holding a fire sale, with massively reduced prices available in a bid to raise funds.

Should Game Group disappear then HMV will be the only wide-scale specialist retailer available on the high street.
