During its launch in the US this Tuesday, Mass Effect 3 sold nearly a million copies, EA’s said.

Speaking at the Wedbush Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference in NYC, the mega publisher’s CEO John Riccitiello said that an estimated 890,000 copies of the BioWare saga’s conclusion were sold in the first 24 hours alone. The exec in his own words is feeling “awfully good” about the success, saying: “We anticipated it doing well, so we’re happy.”

The game is now out all over, having launched yesterday in some parts of Europe, and the UK today.
