Total War series headed to iOS, Android

Sega’s taking its Total War series mobile. The company’s announced Total War Battles: Shogun, a spin-off of the PC series developed by Creative Assembly’s digital team and designed specifically for touch devices.

Brand Director Rob Bartholomew describes it as “a distinct, suitable, immersive and above all high-quality title that sits right for the format.”

He further notes: “Total War Battles is a new franchise for mobile gaming that inherits the high-quality strategy gaming principles from our core series, but tailored into a game mechanic that specifically fits the mobile format.”

Next to a full, 10-hour campaign and bonus challenge missions, a two-player multiplayer mode is offered up as well, though on the same device only.

And wouldn’t you know it, we have a date. Look for the game starting April 19th on both the App Store and Android marketplace. No pricing yet.
