Sega, others join Origin; service now at 11 million users

EA’s Origin platform has signed another; Sega is now on-board and will be offering its most popular titles through the service, with Total War Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai already available for pre-order.

Sega’s not the only newbie to the service though. Among others, Team 17, Rebellion and Kalypso are all said to have signed up, bringing the number of partners Origin has attracted to 35.

They join the likes of WB, THQ and Capcom.

Craig Rechenmacher, VP of Business Development and Marketing for Origin at EA, also reveals that the service has now grown to 11 million worldwide users, which is up quite a bit from the 9 million a little over a month ago.
