UK Charts: Operation Raccoon City can’t top FIFA

EA’s FIFA Street enjoyed its second week running at the top of the UK charts this week, despite facing stiff competition from other big releases.

Such a release is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which came in second despite taking a beating from critics last week. Mass Effect 3 stayed strong in third while other EA Sports offerings FIFA 12 and SSX came in fourth and fifth respectively. Sixth went to Modern Warfare 3 while seventh was held for 3DS newcomer Kid Icarus: Uprising. Not a bad return for Pit, then, who hasn’t seen his own game since Kid Icarus on NES.

Battlefield 3, F1 2011 and Mario & Sonic round out the top 10 in that order. Looking past the week’s big winners we can see Shogun 2 expansion Fall of the Samurai in at 17th (though Steam sales would likely push it up a fair few places), while the week’s other critically-mixed release, Ninja Gaiden 3, debuted at 19th.

Other than Ridge Racer Unbounded there’s not really much on the release list for this week so expect next Monday’s list to look mighty similar to this one.

That top 10 is in a list below.

1. FIFA Street
2. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
3. Mass Effect 3
4. FIFA 12
5. SSX
6. Modern Warfare 3
7. Kid Icarus: Uprising
8. Battlefield 3
9. F1 2011
10. Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics
