Here’s a bit of brighter news among all the studio closures and job cuts we’re hearing about recently; Codemasters has announced plans to create 125 new jobs across its Warwickshire and Birmingham studios in the UK.
The publisher, known for its racing games and the occasional shooter, will create around 100 of these positions at its Warwickshire office, leaving the other 25 for the Birmingham studio. Talent acquisition manager Simon Miles confirmed the news to Develop, though didn’t say how quickly these new jobs would come about.
“The success of our recent games and our plans for the future mean that Codemasters will continue to see growth as we expand our teams here in the Midlands,” Miles said.
“The skilled talent pool in Birmingham, along with the support available for developers in the area and across the Midlands generally, has created a dynamic and creative local business community.
“We’re looking to recruit staff from across the region as well as enticing some new employees into the city.”
That’s more like it, eh?
