CD Projekt looking for “real-life animations” in next-gen hardware

With all these rumors about the next generation of hardware flying about all over the place, more people working in the industry are weighing in on the matter. The latest one to do so is lead level artist Marek Ziemak of CD Projekt, developer of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

“Sure, I’m a level artist so for me, it’s all about the visual quality,” said Ziemak. “I want more creative freedom and more great graphics, that’s what really makes me want to create games.”

A somewhat obvious remark coming from a man whose job is to make games look as pretty as possible. However, the next-gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony should not be all about visual fidelity he went on to say, adding that he’s “looking for like real-life animations. It’s like pushing the limit again and again, creating bigger and greater stuff.”

Added Ziemak, “I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but I want to see this, these great graphics being there on the screen. I hope its time comes soon and we won’t have to fight about pixels on the screen but worry more about delivering a true experience, the real emotion we can deliver through the game.”
