So it’s a given that the new content found in the upcoming Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on PC will eventually make its way over to consoles, right? Right?
Well, worryingly, nothing’s confirmed right now. Speaking to Videogamer on the matter, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki said: “It’s completely understandable that people who bought the original console version have those questions [about DLC]. However as a director of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition I cannot answer your question.”
Oh. Well at least this sounds like he’s more restricted from confirming the news rather than saying no.
“But I want to emphasise my sincere apologies for people who bought the original console [version] that we don’t have any news for them at this point. I’m very sorry!”
If such DLC is coming, then it’s likely after the PC port’s release. Miyazaki signed off by revealing more specifics about the new stuff.
“The original content will include three to four bosses, three to four areas. The numbers are still tbd. That’s the amount of volume, and there will be a new storyline as well. And also there will be more NPCs, more enemies, and the equipment of NPCs or enemies will be available to wear.”
Dark Souls hits PC on August 24.
