Art In Games: Transformers

One thing I love about videogames is how unpredictably awesome some of them can turn out to be. Point in case, Transformers. Two years ago, the franchise (unleashed in the form of Transformers: War for Cybertron) wouldn’t settle for “good enough,” ultimately ending in wowing critics and fans alike. That said, not all Transformers games have been awesome. In fact, very few have so far, as few as… well, one. Award-winning High Moon Studios single-handedly brought the franchise back to life with War for Cybertron, and while the same can not be said for the tie-in Tranformers: Dark of the Moon, it didn’t stop the developer from making the “true sequel” to War for Cybertron, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, the likes of which will slug its way to stores in August later this year. And personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

To catch up on glories past and in anticipation of what’s to come, here’s a collection of concept art for both War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron from the talented team of artists working at High Moon, which include José Flores, Billy King, Aaron Limonick and Norwood Cole. And as a little bonus, here are the best credits ever.
