Namco Bandai merges NA and EU teams

Japan-based publisher Namco Bandai has announced that it is merging their North American and European operations in an attempt to duplicate its recent successes in its native country.

Former Bandai America CEO Mark Tsuji has been granted the same position for all of the company’s Western operations.

Speaking to MCV, Namco Bandai VP of marketing Carlson Choi said, “Over the last year we have been beginning our transformation of the overseas business, making sure that we are not only bringing East to West content but also sub-developing and bringing content from the West that can propagate to the East.┬áIn Japan for the fiscal year, Namco Bandai achieved 24 per cent market share. That shows impressive leadership. And we are asking: how do we transfer that leadership position across Europe and the States?”

Just last week, the Tekken and SoulCalibur publisher held its first joint-NA and EU media event in Las Vegas, showing off, among other titles, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the PC port of Dark Souls, and Star Trek.
