Crytek man backtracks on blocking used games comment

Crytek’s director of creative development Rasmus Hojengaard’s recent comments on the next-gen Xbox’s rumored built-in used games block being “awesome” from a business perspective were “not intended to be taken seriously,” the company has updated.

“From a business perspective that would be absolutely awesome,” were the man’s words. “It’s weird that [second-hand] is still allowed because it doesn’t work like that in any other software industries, so it would be great if they could somehow fix that issue as well.”

Said comment got the man into a bit trouble, it seems, as he’s followed it up with an update that paints said words as “not serious.”

“My comment made in the interview released on the 24th of April, touching upon ‘blocking sales of used games’, was not intended to be taken seriously,” he now says. It’s also not representative of the opinion of Crytek, he makes clear.

Full of funny guys, that Crytek, yeah?
