Sega West boss man Mike Hayes is leaving the company this summer, Sega’s confirmed. He was in charge of the company’s western business for eight years and will now pursue other, no doubt interesting, interests.
Hayes headed up Sega’s American and European businesses as the company went from being a hardware manufacturer to multiplatform publisher and developer.
“Mike has achieved a huge amount during his time at Sega and we thank him for the amazing things he has accomplished,” Naoya Tsurumi, president and representative director, says of Hayes’ time with the company.
“Mike is a great character and very passionate about the industry, he helped steer the extraordinary growth of Sega and has built an exceptional team of professionals that will stand us in good stead for the future.”
COO of SEGA Europe Jurgen Post will take over Hayes’ EU duties.
